Broadcasting Legend Sir Terry Wogan Dies Aged 77 After Short Illness


Legendary BBC broadcaster Sir Terry Wogan has died aged 77, after a short illness, his family has confirmed.
In a statement, Sir Terry’s family, confirming he died after a short cancer battle.


They said:
Sir Terry Wogan died today after a short but brave battle with cancer. He passed away surrounded by his family. While we understand he will be missed by many, the family ask that their privacy is respected at this time.
BBC director general Tony Hall described Sir Terry as a ‘national treasure’.
In November, he had to pull out of presenting the charity fundraiser Children In Need due to health reasons. It was the first time he hadn’t hosted the annual event since it began in 1980.
